Adelaide United coach Guillermo Amor will be forced to watch Saturdays clash against Sydney FC from the grandstand after he was sanctioned by the A-Leagues match review panel for touching a referee.Amor has been issued a one-game touchline ban for grabbing fourth official Adam Fielding by the arm in the 68th minute of Adelaides 3-1 defeat to Perth Glory on Friday night. The incident has also been referred to the A-Leagues disciplinary and ethics committee, who have the power to impose a longer suspension. The usually placid Amor lost his cool when Andy Keogh scored a header to put Perth 2-1 up, despite an apparent foul on Adelaide goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic. There was no malice in the contact but it was enough to convince referee Jarred Gillett to give Amor his marching orders.Amor defended his actions after the match, saying he was merely trying to get Fieldings attention. When you dont speak good, some language, normally you use the hands, and the movement. And this is normal, he said. With the players sometimes its the same. Normal action. I always respect the referees, his job. I know its sometimes difficult, because deciding in one second. The disciplinary and ethics committees hearing will take place early next week.Adelaide United declined to comment.
