HOUSTON -- The Texas Rangers have placed catcher A.J. Pierzynski on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique muscle. Pierzynskis stint on the disabled list is retroactive to May 6, and catcher Robinson Chirinos was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to take his spot on the roster.
