MINNEAPOLIS -- Star forward Amanda Kessel will not play for Minnesota this season because of lingering concussion symptoms. The university said Wednesday that Kessel has not fully recovered from a head injury she suffered playing for the U.S. womens national team. Kessel said the concussion caused her for the first time to fully understand "the importance of being 100 per cent healthy," and thats not the case now.
